Sjögren’s disease is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disorder characterized by lymphoid infiltration of exocrine glands and potential systemic manifestations.1-4
The symptoms can vary by patients and over the course of the disease.2 Common symptoms include xerostomia and keratoconjunctivitis.2,5 Many patients may also experience pain, fatigue, and various systemic manifestations, such as musculoskeletal or cutaneous involvement.4-7 Patients with SjD also have a higher risk of developing non-Hodgkins lymphoma than healthy individuals.8 Long-term damage can be disabling and lead to reduced quality of life.3
